In the weeks following my Sedona trip, I really hit a rough patch. To those of you who had to ride the daily roller coaster with me, thanks for sticking it out with me. For the rest of you, here is what happened.

Sedona- Part 2
If you missed part 1, I suggest you read it here first!
The drive out of Sedona was gorgeous. Dakota and I drove through the winding roads of the Coconino National Forest and the views were incredible. I had told myself that I wanted to stop at every “scenic view” sign and take a minute to check it out, since I had the time and freedom to do it. So about 30 minutes into our drive we come up on our first sign. I pull off into the parking lot and grab Dakota’s leash only to see that she is standing in her own poop, which is now squished into the passenger seat. The van has literally scared the sh** out of her.
Sedona
Each year my mom, my sister, and I meet up for a girl’s weekend. My mom has lovingly named it MAD weekend (Mother And Daughter) and this was our 3rd annual trip. Since we are spread all over the country (Michigan, North Carolina, and Utah) it gives us a chance to get together and explore a new city. This year’s trip was to Sedona, Arizona and since Sedona isn’t too far from Utah, I took this opportunity to take Forrest on a test run! It was going to be about a 9 hour drive, with more for stops, and I’d be doing it in Forrest, as-is. Which means super bare bones, everything ripped out, metal floor and walls, but at least we had an upgraded stereo system! The hotel where I’d be meeting my mom and sister was dog-friendly so Dakota would be able to stay in the hotel with us and be my adventure buddy on the road.

It Takes a Village
When I decided to make this blog, I intended to use it as a way to document my travels and keep in touch with friends as I journeyed across the continent. I had no idea it would become so much more.
We Plan and God Laughs
So what do you do when in a matter of a few days, you find your life turned upside-down? On Wednesday you were chasing a dream of travel and adventure in a van with your boyfriend and by Friday you’re facing the world alone with no job, no place to live, and no boyfriend. This is my story.
