March was a strange time for everyone. It seemed as though every hour the news was changing. People were panicking, others were in denial. There was no toilet paper.
Van Life
Two Years Q&A
Two whole years on the road.
That feels like a pretty wild accomplishment.
Dakota and I sure have seen and done a lot in the past two years. Our journey has taken a lot of twists and turns.
We’ve learned hard lessons and also had plenty of beautiful, relaxing days in front of sprawling landscapes.
If you’ve been following us for a while, you know it hasn’t been an easy journey. I feel like year 2 wrapped up in such a beautiful way, where we’ve really found our groove and I’m incredibly happy. It keeps me so hopeful for what this next year will bring.

Homeless Problems
After Dakota’s first, traumatic splitboarding experience, Andy and I were starving and ready for food.
David was still in town, so the three of us parked our vans in the Kayak Lot, which if you’ve been following along you’ve heard me mention before. The Kayak Lot is a spot in downtown Frisco where I’ve spent many winter nights with van friends before. It has easy access to bars and restaurants right out your front door. We walked down Main Street and spent the evening sharing stories over beers and tacos.

They say it’s your Birthday
That night, on the eve of my 30th birthday, I pulled into a parking lot at Crested Butte Ski Resort. I made my way across the street to the ski slope to find the humming engine and flashing lights of the snowcat that grooms the slopes. My boyfriend flung the door open and I climbed into my birthday chariot.

A New Decade
I had successfully pulled off a surprise visit to my boyfriend in Gunnison. I spent the next couple days soaking in time with the boys before it was time to trek across Colorado again.
